In countries with sufficient electric supply and developed network, <strong>solar traffic lights</strong> and sign systems are used owing to another reason. Solar traffic lights and signs are environmental friendly, affordable and easy to assemble. The handiness of solar traffic lights and signs manifests the most in temporary settings, placed for a set period of time. It can be mounted easy and quickly by one person, supported on a post or trailer mounted. Lighting is produced by extra bright LEDs, that are high energy efficient and long lasting, so little maintenance is needed. Energy supply is assured with solar panels mounted on top of signs or traffic lights, which convert sunlight into electricity. Its activity is controlled by timer and can be activated directly, producing time sequence intervals or radar controlled. In case of solar traffic lights or sign sets, wireless control is reestablished between separate signs to synchronise its function. In case of electric cut this traffic lights and signs are still in function and therefore safer for drivers and all participants in road traffic. Besides technology is safe and easy to use what gives the weight when determining what kind of technology should be used for these purpose.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Photovoltaic </strong>(PV) <strong>cell </strong>is a composite of glass, usually two different types of semiconductors, junction in the middle, and two terminals on the outside (negative and positive). Joined number of cells form solar panel. When photons in sunlight hit the solar panel and are absorbed by semiconducting materials (such as silicon), negatively charged electrons are knocked loose from their atoms. This gives them independency of moving, and therefor they can stir in a single direction. Positively charged (protons) are moving in opposite direction. This interaction allows to capture solar energy for purpose of converting it into usable amount of direct current electricity.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Solar energy can be used in many applications, as for instance, <em>water heating, heating, cooling and ventilation, cooking, process heating, vehicles, chemical, electrical generation and solar lightning</em>.</p>
